We Are Not Alone – Part 3

After running for a couple seconds, Daisy, Anny and Clare spotted some sort of rainbow colored orb.

“Oh, what is that?” asked Daisy.

Anny looked towards it, and said, “It looks like… a colorful orb? Like those I can make!”

“Colorful orbs are fun!” Clare said, with a smile.

“Wait…” Anny took a better look at the orb. “Is that Grace inside it?”

“Grace?! Bu—”

Before she could finish what she was saying, Daisy bumped into a floating mirror that had just appeared in front of her and came to a full stop. Anny and Clare also bumped into her and stopped.

“Huh, what…” said Daisy, as she started getting up.

“That mirror… Was just like mine…” said Anny, also getting up.

“Going anywhere, ladies?”

After the three finally got up, they could see the source of that voice: a white kirby with a hat just like Anny’s.

Annoyed, Daisy asked, “Who are you?”

The white kirby looked at her and said, “Well, hi, name’s Panee.”

“Did you capture Grace?!” asked Clare, worried.

Panee smirked at Clare. “Well, yeah, I did. Why?”

Even more annoyed, Daisy said, “…Release her now, or else…”

Panee looked back at her and asked, “Or else what?”

“This!” Daisy grabbed her wand, quickly waved it upwards, then swung it in Panee’s direction, making a huge beam wave shoot in his direction.

As fast as her, however, Panee grabbed his own wand and swung it right when Daisy’s beam wave was to hit him, making a rainbow colored trail appear; said trail reflected Daisy’s attack and it started going in her direction instead. When his deed was done, Panee mocked her, “Only this?”

Daisy noticed her attack going back to her, but she had no time to react. All she could do was scream, “WOAH!!” and get electrified by the attack. The electricity quickly spread through her whole body, making her lose part of her movements, so she lost balance and fell over.

Worried about her friend, Anny ran over to her, shouting, “Daisy!! Are you okay?!”

Clare, on the other hand, got angry at Panee, so she looked at him with an angry face, and said, “Grrr, don’t hurt her, you evil guy!!” She ran in his direction, closed her eyes, and surrounded herself with a freezing aura right as she got close to him, shouting, “JUST FREEZE!!”

Panee, however, was relaxed, and put his wand forward as soon as Clare got close to him, creating a white opaque barrier near him, which blocked her attack. But she was so concentrated on it that she didn’t realize she wasn’t actually attacking him. Taking advantage of that, Panee started a counterattack, also mocking her, “Thanks, but instead of freezing, I would rather…” Mini mirrors were shot from his wand, going straight towards Clare. “REFLECT!” shouted Panee.

Clare was caught by surprise by the mirrors, and completely lost her attack position, and screamed in pain, “AHHHHH!!!” Her freezing aura stopped and she fell on the floor, a bit dizzy.

Seeing Daisy and Clare fallen, Panee smiled. “Easy, easy…” He then looked at the third kirby there, Anny, and noticed she wasn’t ready to attack him, unlike the others. Intrigued, he asked, “What about you, Anny? You’re just watching your friends get hurt and you aren’t doing anything? I expected differently from you… What’s the matter?”

Anny was taken by surprise by that question, but at the same time knew exactly what to answer. “You know… It looks like you can do everything I can do… But I’ve never met another kirby with these mirror powers, only Simirrors… Which got me thinking… How can you do that?”

Panee chuckled and said, “Wow, really? You all don’t know about Copy Abilities then?”

“Oh, wait, that sounds familiar…” Anny stopped to think for a second, then continued, “Well, we first learned about them today…”

“Well, well…” Panne complemented, “I can copy abilities, while you lot have a permanent one forever. So I got the one you have, Mirror.”

“Wait… Kirby said to do that you have to eat something… If mine is called ‘Mirror’… Then…” Anny realized, “You stole that mirror from me to get the Ability!”

“Correct! But I wouldn’t call that stealing…”

“Mystery solved! Now…” Anny grabbed her wand, and pointed it at Panee. “I will show you who is the best Mirror kirby!”

While Anny and Panee were talking to each other, Daisy and Clare slowly recovered and got up, and were listening to their conversation.

“Keep watch, Anny!” said Daisy, looking at her. “He has the same powers as you!”

“Indeed…” Anny said with a smile. “And that’s what will make this easy!”

Panee waved his wand and slashed it forward, making a rainbow trail appear as he moved it. Anny promptly changed to a defensive position and made a small rainbow colored orb appear around her, which protected her from his attack.

Noticing his attack was blocked, Panee pointed his wand forward and quickly waved it up and down, making multiple small mirrors appear in front of him. In a blink, Anny left her defensive position and jumped over Panee, completely dodging his attack.

While jumping, she said, “Mirror Cut followed by Reflect Force? That’s so predictable!”

Panee heard her and, noticing she was jumping right over him, he pointed his wand upwards and shot a mirror in her direction. When it was about to hit her, Anny closed her eyes and split up in two, with each of her illusionary copies going in opposite directions.

“Attacking the enemy while they are in the air? Even more predictable!” she said.

The two Anny copies landed, and both started running towards Panee. He looked at both, and said, in a sarcastic tone, “Ohhh, noo! I’m dooone foor! Whaat should III doo?!”

Anny was ready to hit Panee, when she noticed he started glowing multicoloredly, disappearing completely the second after. Noticing too late, the two Anny copies ran straight into each other and fused back together.

“What was that?” asked Clare.

“Looks like he teleported,” answered Daisy. “Now where would he teleport to…”

Without the two noticing, Panee reappeared a bit behind them. He landed and started running with his wand pointing forward, while he made a large mirror appear in front of him. The mirror hit Clare and Daisy, and Panee started dragging the two forward. He continued until he also reached Anny, who was just getting up, and waved his wand upward, commanding the mirror to throw the three kirbies in the direction of the rainbow orb, which it did. Anny, Clare and Daisy fell inside said orb, stuck on it alongside Grace.

Panee smirked, and looked at Anny, saying, “Now was that predictable, Anny?”

Anny didn’t mind his provocation, and instead was in shock. “He… He teleported?!” she thought. “But I was told I would take years to learn that skill, how did he…”

While Anny continued questioning what had just happened, Daisy had her thoughts somewhere else. “So, we got caught,” she said out loud, “but what exactly is this orb?”

“Glad you asked!” said Panee. “This is a special rainbow orb that I created to capture you all! It’s solid from the inside, but not from the outside! So, say, if I threw all three of you in its direction, you would go straight through it, and once you get inside, you will not be able to get out! Hehehe…”

“Ohh… This is fascinating…” said Daisy, looking at the orb. “But how did you even—”

“Hey, but being stuck here is no fun!” shouted Clare, sad.

“And who said I care?” said Panee, looking at Clare. “Now be quiet while I plan my next move!”

And so Panee walked a bit away from the orb. Noticing the movement, Clare started to poke Daisy.

“Hey, he’s not that close anymore!” she said, still poking Daisy. “Let’s try escaping!”

“No chance,” said Daisy. “Well, at least not until I properly understand this orb.”

Clare didn’t understand. “Huh? But can’t we just attack and destroy it?”

Daisy shook her head. “No. Think about it: if we could, don’t you think Grace would have done that instead of calling us here?”

Clare stopped for a moment to think about what Daisy had just told her, and said, “Ohhh, good poin— Wait, Daisy, then we have time now!!”

“Time, for what?” Daisy asked.

“Time to explain why Grace doesn’t speak!!” Clare said, excited.

Hearing that, Anny snapped out of her trance, looked at Clare, and added, “Oh, true! You never got to explain!”

Grace, who was the subject of chat, looked at her three friends trying to understand why said subject had been brought up, but she quickly realized it would be best if she just listened.

Daisy sighed. “Alright. I suppose I can tell you what I know.”
