What is all this about?
Basically, 20 Times Kirby/Twenty Times Kirby is in short a Kirby fan story I’ve worked for over 10 years now. Originally a Kirby sprite comic that ran for 9 years, currently it’s being rewritten in a prose format from the ground up. The original sprite comic version is complete, while the rewritten prose novel version is still ongoing and won’t be finished anytime soon, but I constantly work on it.
The story mostly revolves around various Kirby OCs, as they meet Kirby and try to figure out how they even exist and what that all means. The story uses various elements of the Kirby series, but has also many unique elements. People familiar and unfamiliar with the Kirby series can enjoy it.
20 Times Kirby!
20 Times Kirby! started on December 14th, 2010, on a comic hosting site called Smack Jeeves. It’s a Kirby sprite comic that uses sprites from the game Kirby Super Star Ultra. It ended on December 12th, 2019, nearly 9 years after it started, with 1140 pages and 33 chapters.
The site where it was hosted, Smack Jeeves, went through a controversial redesign just a month before the comic ended, in November 2019. Said redesign, to put it lightly, completely destroyed the sub-sites the comics there were hosted, and that included of 20 Times Kirby! As such, the last four pages of 20 Times Kirby! are not present in the archive.org archive of it. In December 2020, Smack Jeeves completely closed and thus the original place where the comic was hosted was completely gone.
I did make various backups of the comic, and you can find them here and read the comic still if you want. Do keep in mind that these are old, and there are various things of the original comic that I regret. If you cringe or find parts unfunny or weird, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Twenty Times Kirby
Twenty Times Kirby is the rewrite of 20 Times Kirby! in written prose, not as a comic. Plans for it existed even before the original comic ended, however I only really started to work on it in 2021, and it officially started in May 2021.
The rewrite uses the same “chapter” format of the original comic, although after working on it for a while, I realized the story would benefit from having extra side stories that go a bit more in depth, so there is that too.
