Two Revenges in One – Part 7

Dana had finally calmed down, thanks to Raven. Breathing slowly, she had at last realized that she was safe from that robot lobster, now that she was far away from it. Or did she?

“So we’re really far away from it, right?” Dana asked.

“Well… Far away enough,” said Percy.

“…’Enough’?”

“Enough fro—”

BOOM!

They were interrupted by a loud noise: the sound of an explosion. Dana hid behind her parasol in shock, while the three others looked across the corridor, and saw the debris of the robot alongside some smoke.

“Phew,” said Raven, “it’s gone!” She looked at Dana. “Dana, it’s all good, that robot is gone now for good!”

While the two chatted, Percy and Yan continued observing the area, waiting for the smoke to lower. And it soon did, revealing that, as they had expected, the explosion of the contact destroyed the wall it crashed on.

Percy smiled. “Mission complete. Now we just have to guide these two forward.” He looked backwards, and called the two over, “You two! Follow me.”

Both Raven and Dana looked at him, and nodded. They started following Percy, who walked forward along with Yan.

FWOOOO!

That was the noise that could be heard inside the reactor room. An alarm started to ring across the room, as if something dangerous had just happened.

“Oh my!” said Daisy.

“What’s happening?!” asked Anny.

“This is… A real ancient reactor alarm!” Daisy’s eyes sparkled in awe. “I never thought I woul—”

“BUT WHAT IS IT?!?!” Anny screamed, impatient.

“Ahh!” Daisy got out of her short trance. “Oops, sorry. Well… It means it’s low on energy, and can’t continue to energize the ship.”

“Wait, low on energy? How?”

“I’m guessing it lost its main power source.” Daisy looked around. “Maybe it was related to that explosion I heard?”

“Explosion?” Clare asked.

Daisy looked at Clare. “Yeah, didn’t you hear it? It happened seconds before the alarm started.”

“Oh…” Clare tried to remember, but couldn’t. “I guess I was distracted looking at the Wheelies! They’re so cute!”

“Anyway, we have to get out of here, and fast. We have to find the ship’s captain and find out what to do from here.”

Daisy ran, leaving the room. Clare followed her, followed by Anny and then Grace. The four ran across the Halberd, looking for the main cabin.

Kirby, Jake, Zan and Valoo were all inside an elevator, as it went up.

“Weird…” said Kirby. “I swear these elevators used to be way faster…”

“Wait, so you used one of these before?” asked Jake.

“Yeah! A while ago I had to invade this ship because Meta Knight was going all crazy. Something about making Dream Land stop being lazy or whatever. But that would mean people wouldn’t be free to be themselves! So I had to stop him.”

“Ah, I see. So, is Meta Knight a rival of yours?”

“Huh…” Kirby took a brief pause, thinking. “Maybe? Well, lately he helps me more, but sometimes in his own ways… He’s an odd fella for sure.”

“Makes sense, based on what I know about him.”

Bing!

After that noise, the elevator stopped, and opened its doors.

“Here, we’ve arrived!” said Kirby, as he exited it.

Right as he stepped out, three different kirbies who were at high speed stopped right next to him, each one coming from a different direction. Kirby flinched.

“Here, I found Kirby!” said Natty, one of them.

“Sure, but I found him first!” said Matt, another, smirking at Natty.

“What? You did not!” Natty furiously replied to him.

Natty and Matt turned to each other and continued their arguing. Kirby watched the two, completely at a loss.

“…What? Find me? First?” He really had no idea what was going on.

“Ah,” said Jake, who was next to Kirby, “it looks like they were having a race. And you were the finish line.”

Kirby looked back to Jake, and said, “Wait, what?”

“Yeah…” Tim spoke up, albeit quietly. “I was taking part in it too.”

“Oh,” Kirby looked at Tim, “you too, right.” Kirby striked a pose, and raised his voice. “You three all won!!”

Natty and Matt heard that and stopped arguing. Both looked at Kirby, and Natty asked, “Oh… So we tied?”

“Yup! If the race’s finish line was me, you three landed next to me at the same time! So you three won!” Kirby started clapping. “Congrats!”

Everyone was at a loss of words. Matt wanted to argue against Kirby, but Kirby was so happy about the tie that even he felt it would be inappropriate to ask him to review the results. Natty was relieved deep inside that this was resolved with a tie, but she feared Matt would soon ask for yet another rematch. Finally, Tim was simply surprised, because he didn’t expect a tie of three.

“Err…” Jake broke the silence, “That’s great, but what about the main cabin?”

“Oh, right!” Kirby stopped clapping, and turned around. “Follow me everyone, and I will head you ther—”

“Kirby!”

Kirby was surprised to hear that voice, and looked back. He spotted Percy and Yan, along with Raven and Dana, heading in his direction.

“Percy! Yan!” He waved at them. “How is it going?”

“Great…” said Percy. He stopped in front of Kirby, and looked around. “Although I expected you would already be in the main cabin.”

“Me too, actually! But some things happened in the way…”

Percy looked back at Kirby. “…Things?”

Kirby nodded. “Yeah! We got attacked by the Meta-Knights for some reason! And they didn’t want to explain why they were doing that. It was so weird… In any case, we beat them!” Kirby striked a pose.

Percy thought about all that for a moment. “Hmm… That is odd… But glad they didn’t manage to stop you.”

“They would never! Anyway, time to find Meta Knight!”

Kirby started heading towards the main cabin, which was very close to where they all were. All kirbies that were nearby followed him, each at their own pace.
