The Meeting – Part 4

“We’re almost there,” said Percy, as he walked. Raven was with him.

“Great.” Raven looked worried. “I hope Dana is alright.”

“Is she your friend?”

“Yup. She was with me until we got attacked by Larry and the others. She’s easily scared, so she ran away as fast as she could after seeing them.”

“I see. Well, my friend Yan went ahead of us to make sure that Larry wouldn’t cause more trouble, so I’m sure he kept your friend safe too.”

“Oh, thank goodness!” Raven said, now with a very relieved face.

“Ah,” Percy looked forward, “and from the looks of it, he already got here, and everything is under control.”

“Hmm? How can you tell?”

“We arrived at the meeting place. And there’s only one kirby outside.”

Indeed, Percy was referring to Natty, who noticed the two getting closer to her.

“Hey!” she said. “Did you two also come to the meeting?”

“Yup,” Percy answered. “And we—”

Before Percy could continue, someone ran past him and stopped right in front of Natty. Percy and Raven had no idea who they were, nor did Natty. It was Valoo.

“Hey, hey, here’s the meeting, right?” Valoo asked.

“Yeah…” Natty was confused, but still answered.

“YESSS!” Valoo celebrated with a couple hops. “Now where is the chocolate?!”

“…Chocolate?” Natty got even more confused.

“Yeah, my friends told me this meeting would have lots of chocolate! So where is it?!”

“Huuh…” Natty had no idea what to reply. She guessed the meeting wouldn’t have all that chocolate, since it sounded really absurd, but she didn’t know for sure.

“Hey, you!” Percy called Valoo’s attention, as he walked in their direction.

“Oh, do you have the chocolate?!” Valoo asked, still hypnotized by their own chocolate thoughts.

“Well, you see…” Percy said, while he thought. He had heard Valoo was obsessed with chocolate, and he knew he couldn’t just tell them there was actually no chocolate. But what could he do?

“Did anyone say chocolate?”

A voice came from somewhere near them all. They looked around trying to find who said that, but couldn’t. Before they could start searching better…

“CHOCOLATE!!” screamed Valoo, as they ran towards a chocolate cake that had just appeared. They swallowed it whole, much to everyone else’s surprise.

“Oh… Someone really likes chocolate, huh,” said Natty, still very confused.

“But… Where did that cake come from?” asked Raven.

“That voice…” Percy pondered. “Maybe…”

“Valoo!”

A different voice came from the opposite direction. It was Jake, who had just arrived with Zan.

“We finally caught up with you…” Jake said, as he walked fast towards Valoo.

“You were right!” Valoo said, hopping happily. “The chocolate from here is so good!”

“Huh…” Jake wondered what to say. “Yeah…”

He was just relieved to see that Valoo had their hunger for chocolate satisfied. Zan, who was also near the two now, was relieved as well. He had been pretty worried about Valoo.

“So come here!” The trio finally noticed Natty’s voice.

Her vision was directed to the meeting’s house. It looked like she had just finished talking to someone, but no one was in sight, and she didn’t seem to be talking to anyone who was inside either.

“Wait, is someone behind the house?” guessed Jake.

“Hey all!” Jake’s question had an answer: Daisy appeared from behind the house, and greeted them all, as Grace followed her, quiet as usual.

“Daisy! There you are!” a voice from afar called her.

Clare and Anny had just arrived, and Clare sped up and ran towards Daisy. “So that’s where you went off to!”

“Yes!” she said, proudly! “I took this path tha—”

“Please,” Anny shut her down quickly, “don’t even start. If you do, you will only stop at the next hour. The meeting is about to start!”

“Oh, true!” Daisy said. “Is everyone here already?”

“It looks like it,” said Percy. “Well, except for someone who’s key—”

“Hey, Kirby, they’re all here now!” Daisy called.

She was looking directly at the house. Everyone followed her vision, and saw no one other than Kirby, the pink puffball himself, come from behind it. He was finishing gulping a tomato, as he looked at them all.

“Oh, hi everyone!” He was excited, but couldn’t hide the fact that he was a bit embarrassed for some reason.

“K-Kirby?!” Percy was really surprised. “But I thought you…”

“Yes, yes!” He started walking towards the door. “I can explain inside!” He jumped, and striked a pose. “C’mon everyone! Follow me, and we can start the meeting!”

And so, Kirby walked inside, and everyone else followed him.
